GrumpAI is the project of Steve N. Jones, a creator based in the United Kingdom who has been building at the intersection of AI tools, gaming, and original storytelling since 2023. The channel covers AI music creation, AI image and video generation, survival gaming through a creative lens, and the honest truth about what artificial intelligence can and cannot do — including how many attempts it takes before anything sounds right.
In 2026, GrumpAI released Primeval Shore — a fully original 19-track album scored using AI, with all lyrics written by hand, chapter by chapter, for a story world being built in public across the Machine & Myth channel. Every track is properly licensed for commercial use. Every tool subscription is paid for. Every piece of content is made by one person without shortcuts.
That costs money. Not a fortune, but consistently.

What this fund covers

AI tool licences
The music, imagery, and video generation tools used across GrumpAI and Machine & Myth require paid subscriptions for commercial use. Free tiers exist. They do not include commercial rights. The work published here is properly licensed — which means paying for the plans that make that possible.
Game servers
GrumpAI’s games run on Nitrado servers — reliable, configurable, and not free. Ark Survival Ascended, Seven Days to Die, and Empyrion Galactic Survival all require maintained servers to run properly.
Website and hosting
grumpai.com — the hub for the Primeval Shore album, the story world lore, the AI tutorials, and the email list — runs on paid hosting.
Equipment — the GPU fund
This is the honest footnote. The current hardware limits what AI generation can produce and how quickly. A new GPU would significantly improve the quality of AI imagery and video across both channels and reduce the time it takes to make each piece of content. Donations go directly toward that fund. When it is reached, it will be announced. When the hardware arrives, the improvement in content quality will be visible.
